Ice Skating behind the skate park December 27 10am

We will be ice skating on the ice rink behind the skate park on the ice rink December 27 at 10:00am. We have some smaller skates size 6 and under to borrow. Come join the fun or just come and watch.

Ice is ready!

We flooded Gold Fields Pond and then it rained. It looks good, but a little pebbled. Also, heard people are enjoying skating on Ruth Pond, and Valdez Glacier.

City Council Meeting May 3, 2010

We would like you all to mark your calendars and plan to attend the May 3rd City Council Meeting. The Parks and Rec Commission will be presenting the Multi-use facility to City Council. Our goal is to fill the room. We need you all. The City Council listens to the public. Please help spread the word.

LOGO COMPETITION!

The Valdez Amateur Hockey Association is in need of a logo! Can you design a logo that will become part of this organization? Do you want your work be seen on stickers, letterhead, and other places for years to come? Do you have the creativity to make this happen? Do you want to win a prize? Then you need to enter The Valdez Amateur Hockey Association’s logo competition!

· The logo competition is open to people of all ages.
· The logo MUST be the ORIGINAL WORK of the artist.
· The logo should include the name of the organization (name or initials) in a manner where it is easily recognizable.
· The logo should have no more than 3 colors on a white background.
· The logo should be submitted no larger than 10” x 10” and no smaller than 5” x 5”.
· The logo should be easily reproduced in a variety of sizes and printed or photocopied in color or black and white without losing the overall effect.
· All entries become the property of the Valdez Amateur Hockey Association.
· All entries must be received no later than March 1, 2010. The winning logo will be presented to the Community in early April.

Contest submissions must include:

1. Artist’s name, address, telephone number
2. Print copy of logo
3. Electronic file (on a disc or e-mailed to valdezhockey@gmail.com) for any digitally created graphic
